About YouTube GIF Comments

Who we are, what we publish, how we research and test our guides, and how to reach us.
Published

YouTube GIF Comments (youtubegifcomments.com) is an independent site about GIFs on YouTube. We publish practical guides to YouTube's GIF comments feature and build free, private GIF tools that run in your browser.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube, Google or Tenor. "YouTube" and "Tenor" are trademarks of Google LLC and are used only to describe the subject of our guides.

What we publish

How we research our guides

GIF comments are new and change often, so we hold our guides to a few rules:

  1. Primary sources first. We check claims against YouTube's Help Center, the YouTube Data API revision history, Tenor's Help Center and Google's developer documentation before relying on news coverage.
  2. Name the source. When a fact comes from a specific report or document, we link to it in the guide.
  3. Date everything. Each guide states the date its facts were checked ("as of October 2026"), and the page shows when it was last updated.
  4. Say when we're not sure. If something hasn't been confirmed, such as whether a workaround still works, we say so plainly instead of guessing, and we mark what we're still testing.
  5. Update when things change. When YouTube changes the feature, we update the affected guides and log the change in the rollout tracker.

How our tools work

Our GIF maker and GIF compressor run entirely in your browser. Your videos and GIFs are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to our servers. The tools are free, need no account and don't add watermarks. See our privacy policy for details on the limited analytics data we collect.
